Armenian Defense Minister visits Syunik

Armenian Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan paid a working visit to Syunik province on December 17.

The consultation focused on demarcation of Armenian-Azerbaijani borders and deployment of armed forces and border troops on the newly marked border lines.
Recall that after the signing of the trilateral declaration, the Syunik region will border with Azerbaijan not only from the west, but also from the east. The border will be demarcated in the coming days.
At the same time, the governor of Syunik, Melikset Poghosyan, told confirmed the information that Russian peacekeepers have been deployed in the Vorotan village section of Syunik Province, noting that the situation in the region is normal.
“In addition to the Vorotan, the Russian peacekeepers have been deployed in the Shurnukh village and other places. These settlements are also controlled by the border troops of Armenia,” – told the governor of Syunik.
